Awesome Money Making Ideas for Kids

If your kids are looking for a way to be able to earn a little bit extra spending, then I would definitely encourage them to do so.  Having extra money can definitely teach kids some good lessons.  They’ll be able to recognize that their new money came at the expense of their work, and they’ll probably value the money even more, and not just waste it on candy or little toys.  They’ll want to get something that they really want.  Another great thing that you can teach your kids is the value of saving.  They’ll be able to set goals of large items they may want to buy, and you can see them work towards it making the good choice to save along the way.  Now that we agree that kids making money is a good thing, here are some good money making ideas for kids:

One thing that your kids can do is some sort of yard work.  No matter what season of the year, you’ll be able to find something to do in the lawn.  If it is the fall, then your neighbors probably have a bunch of leaves, and your child can go rake them up and earn some extra cash.  In the summer time, kids who are a little bit older can mow lawns, and keep them kept up.  This can be a great recurring job.  In the winter, if you have snow, then people may want to have their snow shoveled.

Another great idea is to allow you kids to be creative and make some crafts.  Take them to a crafts fair and let them see various things that they’d be interested in making.  (This also helps you to see what stuff people will actually buy, and not just junk crafts).  Then, help you kid to get the supplies to make a craft they like, and bring them to the craft fair next time it comes around, and they will be able to sell their items to other people and make some money.
