Broadway travel for seniors

If you’re like many retirees, traveling abroad can seem a bit scary.  Will there be the right medical help  in case of emergency?  Will the hotel and airline accommodate your needs?  These are common questions, and unfortunately a few would-be travelers stay at home rather than experience the sights.  But most destinations accommodate visitors with medical difficulties, and New York’s famous Broadway theater district is no different.

If you can get around well, this is the best scenario for your Broadway travel adventure, as the world’s greatest theater district is best seen on foot and in person.  The great opera houses are terrific up close and in person.

If you have a condition that does slow you down a bit, you’ll be happy to learn that Broadway facilities and attractions must comply with the same equal access laws that all other public facilities must meet or exceed, so your movement aids are welcome under the bright lights of the big city.

At the time you book your holiday, it’s important to check in to travel insurance.  Holiday insurance policies reimburse you in case you experience an unfortunate circumstance while you’re traveling, such as a medical emergency, lost or stolen baggage, costs due to unplanned delays in transportation (such as missed flights, extra hotel nights, etc).  Holiday insurance can even protect you from judgments due to liability for personal injury and property damage.

If you’re looking for travel insurance for pre existing medical conditions, it’s important to start shopping early for the right combination of coverages and premiums, and it is equally important to disclose all of your pre existing issues to your insurance company.  In case you file a claim, your insurance company will most likely investigate your medical history.

New York’s Broadway is one of the world’s great attractions, and thousands of seniors enjoy the sights every year.  Just plan sufficiently in advance to ensure the best experience.
