Correct Direct TV DVR Installation
New DVR models allow a number of options for the viewers who like to stay on top of their favorite TV shows. Entire TV shows or movies can be recorded as easy as the press of one button. Programs may be paused or rewind backwards by touching a few buttons. The process of installing a Direct TV DVR is pretty easy if you possess some experience with A/V components. If you have previously set up your TV or stereo system then you will not have any problems installing the new system.
The first step is calling DIRECTV at the toll free number they have provided 1-800-DIRECTTV and get from them the necessary manuals and cables. Your Direct TV DVR installation will be verified to make sure it can function with this equipment. Two satellite signals are required when you want to access the available features. In most cases there will be the need for a second line. A DVR Receiver, a power cord, an access card, a phone line and the RCAA/V cables with two RG-6 cables will need to be in your possession to set it right. The order of installment is as follows: first the access card followed by the phone and the power cables. You will need to replace your standard receiver with the new model and you are in business.
The Satellite Antenna will need to be hooked up together with attaching the TV to the Recorder. Proceed to connect the RG-6 cables and the satellite inputs into the DVR. The best signal can be obtained through the use of an S-video cable. This cable will have to go into the output of the DVR and connect to the input of the TV. For the sound an RCA cable will do the job. You will need to adjust the color yourself and you can do this by making sure the cables are plugged into the correct slots: white into the left one while red will be into the right one. The final moment will be about connecting the phone and the power outlets and turning on your DIRECT DVR TV. You will know you have done things the right way when the menu will pop up.
