Flea Elimination With Bombs And Shampoos

Fleas are an annoying pest to both the pet and their owners. Not only do these insects bite the animals in the home but if left to their own designs they will bite humans too. The reason they are not as able to stay on humans is the thickness of the hair on animals and their exoskeletons are created to stay attached to the shorter hair of dogs and cats.

There are flea bombs available from many pet product manufacturers. One such is Ultracide. This is a professionally used flea spray that works the same way that bombs do. Spray it on furniture, floors and all other kinds of fabrics that come into contact with the pets. It is an aerosol that comes in 20 oz cans. It lasts for up to seven months killing fleas, eggs and preventing reinfestations. Precor is another product that is very useful. Place it in the rooms and let its poisons go to work to kill both adult fleas and their eggs. This product lasts up to 28 days then the process should be reapplied.

Flea shampoo must be used with the bombing products. Cleaning the pet is as easy as a normal bath. Advantage, Natural defense and Farnam are all good, trustworthy names. These products are infused with poisons to kill the insects on the pet. Wet the animal all over then apply a liberal amount of the product of choice. As most of them kill the bugs on contact there will be a lot of them rinsed off as you go. Franam kills ticks and lice as well and keeps the eggs from growing for approximately a month. Natural defense is specially designed for cats. It is a product that is safe for pets and children. Advantage is highly recommended by vets and is waterproof so that it cannot be washed out if the animal goes swimming with the kids.

Once the pests are contained it is a good idea to redo the entire home, yard and pets themselves approximately a month later just to be sure. After the first bath though, the pet will become so much healthier and happier that they might start bringing you your slippers without being asked.
