How to Become a Nurse Quickly
A career in nursing can be an ideal way to earn a good salary and be part of your community at the same time. Nurses earn relatively high salaries and have numerous responsibilities. In order to become a nurse you must go complete training after you have graduated from high school.
The first part of the processing of becoming a nurse is to apply to nursing school. Make sure that you have the application completed before you send anything away. Carefully proofread it.
The second part of the process is signing up for nursing classes. If you are seeking out training as an LPN you will have to spend at least nine months attending classes. Most LPN’s study for at least a year.
All nurses take classes related to nursing including coursework in chemistry, nutrition and human anatomy. Nurses are taught subjects such as how to dress patient’s wounds and how to work with patients to help them understand medical procedures. Nurses are also taught how to perform nursing procedures such as inserting catheters and intravenous lines.
A nurse must also spend a period of time working with patients. This period of time is known as her clinical education. During this time she works directly with patients learning procedures such as how to chart their vitals and how to understand their exact complaints. Nurses also work with doctors and other health professionals to tend to the needs of patients as part of a team.
After completing all nursing school requirements you must pass state licensing exams. The exam is known as the NCLEX which stands for National Counsel Licensure Nursing Exam. The exam is graded on a pass / fail basis and given multiple times throughout the year. Once you pass it you don’t have to take it again.
After you have completed all these requirements you can become a nurse.
