Margaritaville G1000 Grill Review
When it comes to portable grills, there are really two things you need to look for. One is how compact or efficient the grill is at transporting to your destination, setting up and doing its job. The other is how well it performs and how easy it is to use. Many times one portable grill will be great for travelling but a real pain to use (while other grills are vice versa). The good news is that the Margaritaville grill doesn’t compromise in either aspect. In this review we’ll show you why we think it is one of the best portable grills on the market today.
The Margaritaville G1000 is a ride behind, hitch mounted grill. What this means is that the grill is mounted on an industrial strength steel arm that can fit into any standard 2in trailer hitch. The grill is then secured to the arm and rides outside the vehicle, saving you lots of space inside your vehicle for other stuff. It also allows the grill to be bigger than other portable grills. This makes it fantastic for camping, fishing trips, or tailgating where you can anticipate grilling for many people. The Margaritaville grill has 353 square inches making it absolutely huge, as big as a home grill, and it can easily hold up to 20 hamburgers or hotdogs at one time. The other important thing is that it has the BTU to back it up. It uses a 20,000 BTU burner to supply more than enough heat while grilling. It also comes loaded with handy features such as collapsible side tables, a flip-down spice and condiment rack, and numerous hooks for easy storage of any and all grilling utensils.
The only downside to the Margaritaville G1000 is that it comes with a 1lb propane tank hookup (the actual tank is sold separately). This will only last you maybe 2 hours at best, so if you’re serious about grilling, it’s best to get the 20lb tank adapter.
