Outback Steakhouse Uniforms and Employee Incentives

Just about every restaurant chain in the world showcases some kind of uniform that must be warn by it’s employees. This uniform helps to establish a number of things within this particular sector of business. It helps to establish recognition between restaurants. What this means in lamens terms is that for example, Chillis wheres one kind or color while outback steakhouse wares another. Everyone knows what an outback uniform looks like and obviously the same can be said about Chillis.

Most restaurants like Outback require that not only their staff of managers all the way down to servers where their uniform. It also helps creates continuity amongst their employees which helps customers recognize the employees from the other restaurant goers.

One thing that Outback does to provide some motivation to their staff is giving them some sort of small gift on a daily basis. Now im not talking about diamonds or something like that but something to say thanks to their employees for looking their best and very presentable. What a number of locations began doing around the later part of 2009 is raffling off some outback steakhouse coupons to the employee of the day who is dressed the best. This means their pants are ironed, shirt is pressed and they have no visible eye sores. Things like this are what management looks for daily before giving out any outback coupons to the winning server(s). It may seem a bit silly when you think about it but what this really does is motivate employees to be on their p’s and q’s during their shift. It also gives them a little bit of motivation to look their best. In my opinion this is a great idea because some people that work in restaurants look like a hot mess. By giving something away at the end of a shift you’re basically giving your employees a little something extra to work for and to look forward to besides the end of shift.
