Wire kennels are useful because they can provide good ventilation plus you can see your puppy well through the wires. Wire kennels are very easy to clean and maintain. Just sit the wire kennel on some old newspapers and you’re ready for your puppy to be trained.
A plastic dog kennel is great if you’re on the move and it’s the kind of kennel that the law requires if you plan to travel. Plastic kennels design provide a bit more security and privacy for the puppy. Even puppies enjoy their alone time.
Be sure to choose the right size kennel that is appropriate for your puppy. It should be high enough for the puppy to stand up comfortably and long enough so they can stretch out and roll slightly.
Dogs visualize space different from humans, while we may view the space they’re in as cramped they do not. In fact, the small space is great for training as it communicates to them that this plastic dog kennel is the only place to relieve themselves.
Just remember that as your dog grows then you’ll need to replace your old plastic kennel with one that is now more appropriate for his new size.
