If you keep your golf cart in your automobile garage, make sure that your garage has adequate ventilation. Golf cart batteries do not last very long if you keep them in extremely hot conditions over 90° for extended periods of time.
If you need to buy new batteries for your golf cart you can purchase them online over the Internet. Keep in mind that you will need to know the voltage of your current batteries. If you do not have this information readily available, you can also call your manufacturer as well to find this information. Before you call them you will need to have the serial number for your golf cart unit. You can find the serial number for your golf cart in your owner’s manual. If you no longer have your owner’s manua, you can also find the serial number engraved on a small plate usually under the hood of your golf cart. Some of the more popular brands of golf carts include: Cushman, Club Car, and Yamaha. Golf cart batteries typically come in 36 and 48 V DC configurations. If you plan on storing or golf cart over the winter, you should always make sure that they are attached to a trickle battery charger. This is important so that your batteries do not ever become fully drained. Once your batteries are fully discharged, this will cause your batteries to dry up internally and the battery life will be dramatically shortened. Golf cart batteries are extremely expensive to replace, therefore you should do your best job possible to maintain the life of your current batteries. Properly maintained golf cart batteries should last approximately 1000 full charging cycles. This can last 3 to 5 years depending on what part of the country you live in.
